Surat Al-Qasas kerap disebut surat Nabi Musa, sebab dalam surat ini menceritakan kisah Nabi Musa as. Al-Qasas sendiri memiliki arti kisah-kisah atau cerita-cerita. 68. وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ (Dan Tuhanmu menciptakan apa yang Dia kehendaki) Yakni apa yang Allah kehendaki untuk Dia ciptakan. وَيَخْتَارُ ۗ ( dan memilihnya) Dan memilih siapa yang Allah kehendaki. مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ ۚ ( Sekali-kali tidak ada pilihan bagi mereka) Namun pilihan itu berada di tangan Allah.
قَالَ عَسَى رَبِّى أَن يَهْدِيَنِى سَوَآءَ السَّبِيلِ. (he said: "It may be that my Lord guides me to the right way.") meaning, the most straight route. And Allah did indeed do that, for He guided him to the straight path in this world and the Hereafter, and caused him to be guided and to guide others.

Tidak ada tuhan (yang berhak disembah) selain Dia. Segala sesuatu pasti binasa, kecuali Allah. Segala keputusan menjadi wewenang-Nya, dan hanya kepada-Nya kamu dikembalikan.
